Svensk Konsertdirektion - Daniel Blendulf

The twenty-nine year old conductor Daniel Blendulf is rapidly developing a reputation as one of the most promising Swedish conductors.

Encouraged by Jorma Panula he started his conducting studies in 2005. Since winning the Swedish Conducting Competition in 2008, Daniel has completed his conducting studies in Stockholm and has worked with the Malmö, Helsingborg and Stockholm Chamber orchestras.

In the season of 2010/11 he will make his debuts with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Stockholm Sinfonietta, Dalasinfoniettan, Musica Vitae and will make his opera debuts at Folkoperan with Gounod´s Faust and at the Royal Swedish Opera, conducting Donizetti´s Don Pasquale.

Daniel Blendulf is also an accomplished cellist and studied in Stockholm with Torleif Thedéen and in Vienna with Heinrich Schiff. He has appeared as soloist with many of the leading Swedish orchestras including the Swedish Radio Symphony, the Stockholm Philharmonic, the Norrköping and the Malmö Symphony orchestras and was in 2006 invited by Gustavo Dudamel to play Shostakovich´s Cello Concerto No. 1 with him and the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela. Daniel is a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.

DANIEL BLENDULF - SVENSK KORTBIO

Daniel Blendulf är en av de mest lovande unga dirigenterna i Sverige. 2008 vann han det Svenska Dirigentpriset och har sedan dess hunnit arbeta med Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester, Malmö Symfoniorkester, SNYKO samt avslutat sina diplomstudier vid Kungliga musikhögskolan.

Under nästa säsong kommer Daniel att debutera med Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester, Stockholm Sinfonietta, Dalasinfoniettan och Musica Vitae. Han gör även sin debut som operadirigent på Folkoperan där han kommer att dirigera Gounod´s Faust samt vid Kungliga Operan i Stockholm där han dirigerar Donizettis Don Pasquale under våren 2011.

Daniel är även cellist och studerade vid Edsbergs musikinstitut för Torleif Thedéen och i Wien för Heinrich Schiff. Han har framträtt som solist med flertalet svenska symfoniorkestrar och bjöds år 2006 in av Gustavo Dudamel för en konsert med Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela i Caracas. Daniel är medlem i Mahler Chamber Orchestra och Lucerne Festival Orchestra.
